Personal Addiction

Addiction, in all its forms, is rarely about willpower. It is often a response to pain. In my Personal Addiction counseling, I help you address both the addictive behavior and the wounded places underneath it so you can move toward lasting freedom rather than white-knuckling through each day.
Whether you are struggling with substance use, gambling, love or sex addiction, food issues, pornography, social media, or codependency, you will not be shamed or labeled. As a trauma-informed therapist, I understand how childhood wounds, abusive relationships, racial or spiritual trauma, and chronic stress can drive compulsive patterns. Together, we gently unpack those experiences while building safer ways to soothe and protect yourself.
In our sessions, you will learn to recognize triggers, interrupt automatic behaviors, and ride out urges using practical tools you can reach for in real time. We will challenge the beliefs that keep you stuck-like "I'm broken," "I always ruin things," or "I can't cope without this"-and replace them with a more truthful, empowering narrative. You will practice boundaries, communication skills, and relapse-prevention strategies tailored to your actual life, not an idealized version of it.
My intention is for you to reclaim your power, not just over the addiction, but over your choices, your relationships, and your future. Many clients notice early wins: fewer binges, more honest conversations, and a growing sense of self-respect. Over time, those wins stack into a different way of living.
If you are ready to step out of secrecy and into support, addiction therapy with me in Texas can help you build a healthier, more peaceful life that is not organized around the next high, the next crisis, or the next shame spiral.
